Church council meeting tonight, 4:00, to work on our 2019 church calendar.

Merge youth weekend begins this Friday night! Help we need from our church: 1) Snacks for 3 host homes. There is a table and a box in our entry to put snack contributions—homemade or packaged. Our drive thru door will be open next week if you want to bring snacks next week, deadline is Friday. 2) Our church is serving lunch to all the teenagers at Merge on Saturday in our gym. We need a few more volunteers to help, all the food is provided. Be in our gym kitchen by about 10:00 if you will help. See Aaron Riddle for more info.

Merge youth weekend will be January 25-27 (Fri-Sun) Merge is a large joint effort of churches in our community to disciple teenagers. Help we need from our church: We have 2 host homes and the group leaders to go with them. We need volunteers to provide snacks for each home and breakfast food Saturday morning for each home. Our church is responsible for lunch for everyone on Saturday. The food is supplied but we need the volunteers to cook and serve. If you will help with food in any way, see Aaron Riddle ASAP.

Church council meeting next Sunday, 4:00, to work on our church calendar for 2019. Our church council is representatives of the different ministries in our church.

We have our new 2019 church calendar on the wall in our secretary’s office. If you and/or your group have an event planned this year that involves our church facilities, please sign up on the calendar.

Everyone is invited to our annual drop in open house at our parsonage (the home next door) tonight, 4:00—till everyone leaves. Menu: chili, vegetable soup, chicken salad, etc.

 This Wednesday night:

~Business meeting, 6:00 in our gym. Agenda: 1) Approve an annual IRS required pay package for our pastor. 2) Elect delegates to our local Arkansas Association and our national Ministry Summit.

~Our Wednesday night adult group will be feeding our children’s ministry.

None of our groups will meet this Wednesday night. Our annual beginning of the year business meeting will be January 9.

Our community Christmas meal will be 11:00-1:00 on Christmas day at the Trumann Sports Complex on Pecan Grove Rd.

We need: 1) Turkey and ham donations can be taken to Couch’s BBQ by this Wednesday.

2) Three more large pans of dressing (full pans please) sign up on our bulletin board. There are pans for you to pick up in our foyer and bags of dressing mix if you would like to use it

3) If you will help with the meal, be at the Sports Complex by 10:15 on Christmas day.

4) If you know of anyone who needs a meal delivered, contact Missy Moody, 870-650-1053.

3) If you will help with the meal, be at the Sports Complex by 10:15 on Christmas day.

Our community Christmas meal will be 11:00-1:00 on Christmas day at the Trumann Sports Complex on Pecan Grove Rd.

We are gradually replacing our fluorescent light fixtures with LED fixtures. There is a pile of fluorescent fixtures by the back door of our gym (west wall) to give away. Take as many as you want and tell others about it too. The back door of our gym will be unlocked this week, first come first served.

Our Harvest Day offering was $8818.00. This will go a long way in the upkeep and updating of our facilities.

Welcome to Harvest Day!

10:00, Our Sunday school classes will not meet as usual but will meet in our sanctuary for a special worship service.

11:00. Jamey and Amanda Carter and their family are our special guests. Jamey is the pastor of the Dixie Baptist church. We will be taking our Harvest Day offering for our building fund. Last year’s offering helped us put on our new roof and redo our drive thru area.

Noon, everyone is welcome to stay for lunch in our gym.

We will not have services this evening.

Our church will be hosting the Trumann community Thanksgiving service this Tuesday night, 7:00.  Rev Timothy Gary from the Church of God will be preaching.Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring some nonperishable food for our Trumann Food Pantry.

 Our small groups will not meet this Wednesday night. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

 Next Sunday we will start announcing info about our community Christmas meal.

From our pastor: usually in November I take somewhat of a sabbatical from preaching quite so much—try to preach a little less and pray and study more. Trunk or Treat tonight, 4:30-6:30 in the parking lot in front of our gym and youth room (if you are not doing a “trunk” please park in the lot north of our sanctuary)

~Our children are raising money for a Christmas ministry in 2 ways: 1) pumpkin decorating contestants have their pumpkins on the table in the entry, vote for the one you want to win by dropping your change in their bag 2) Our children will be selling hot chocolate and lemonade tonight, proceeds help the Christmas ministry.

See You At The Pole, student prayer event is this Wednesday morning. In Trumann students will gather at the high school and intermediate school flag poles at 7:00am.Adults who want to support the prayer movement will gather at the Focus facility across from the high school and the First Methodist church across from the intermediate school

Also: there is a Saw You At The Pole student rally this Wednesday night at the Central Community church in the Central community at the junction of Hwys 69 and 163. Pizza will be available starting at 6:00, worship will start at 7:00. Our youth group will be attending the rally so will not be meeting here this Wednesday.

Thank you to everyone who helped with our youth spaghetti supper and auction last night.

 This Wednesday night our adult group will meet at Jr & Patsy Carter’s home, 1225 Hwy 69.

 Worship Night In Trumann is Sunday night, September 30, 6:00pm, at the Trumann high school auditorium. Anthony Patterson will be leading music, Gary Fulton was scheduled to speak but has to decline due to some serious health issues. John Booker will now be preaching.  All churches in our area are welcome for a night of worship together.

 Looking ahead for children’s ministry: Trunk or Treat will be Sunday afternoon/evening, October 28, more info in the weeks to come. Our Wednesday night grade school children will start early on filling Christmas care boxes for residents at Stepping Stones homeless shelter. We will have more info on how you can help. See Amy Fisher with any questions.

 Due to C.A. Jones’ health issues right now, we need a male volunteer to help Jr Carter with delivering food to our Trumann Food Pantry, 2 days every other month. See Jr if you will help.
