Simply take one or more lists and bring the items by June 1 to room #14 between our children’s church and our Heaven Bound Sunday school room. 2)  If you would like to help with VBS expenses, give your contribution to Lynda Sadler or Lindsay Miller.

VBS—Shipwrecked—for grade school children will be Friday night and Saturday, June 22-23.  We need: 1 crew leader to go with children from place to place. See Lindsay Miller.  Our workers are hanging lists of things they need donated or borrowed on the display in our entry. Simply take one or more lists and bring the items by June 1 to room #14 between our children’s church and our Heaven Bound Sunday school room. For our workers, there are more blank lists in our secretary’s office.

Our youth group still has T-shirts, car decals, bracelets for sale to help fund their trip to National Youth Conf. See any of our youth group to purchase yours.

Tonight is our 5th Sunday potluck fellowship in our gym, 5:00

Our Wednesday night adult group will be feeding our children’s ministry this Wednesday. Also: a financial statement for April will be available.

National Day of Prayer is this Thursday. The Trumann community will gather for prayer at the First Baptist church at 12:00. There is an info sheet pinned to our bulletin board in our sanctuary foyer.

Trumann’s Baccalaureate service is next Sunday night, 6:00 at the high school. Since our Sunday evening worship starts at 5:00, we will have a shortened service-trying to end by 5:30ish-for anyone who wants to attend both. Seth Cooper will be preaching next Sunday night.

Donna Johnson’s mother, Faye Smith, has passed away. Visitation is Monday, 10:00, funeral following at 11:00. All at Gregg’s in Jonesboro.

Our new roof is on! We also raised the roof over our drive thru area so our bus can drive thru. When we save up enough, we will complete that area by pouring a higher concrete pad and raising the north entry door and the area leading to it. Raising this area up also makes it possible to pave our parking lot if we ever choose to.

Ladies Life Group meets tonight after our evening worship service.

None of our Wednesday night small groups will meet March 21, spring break week. Our gym floor will be cleaned that week and we will be working on our entry/drive thru area getting ready for a metal roof.

Sunday School: we have been getting close to having 100 in Sunday school. When we reach the 100 mark, our Sunday school superintendent Cliff Hopper and Darrel will cook breakfast for everyone the next Sunday morning before Sunday school.

Please leave any last quarter’s Sunday school literature and/or Daily Breads in our secretary’s office and Birtie will take those to our county jail.

Tacos for Life food packaging party next Saturday, at the ASU Armory. We have about 40 people signed up for    4:30 – 6:30, if you want to package food with us in that time slot, see Aaron Riddle.

Our Arkansas Association and Presbytery meets at our church this Saturday. Association meeting begins at 10:00, Presbytery begins after lunch (around 1:00). Lunch is being catered by Tony Byrd – rentals and fine catering, but all the ordained (hopefully their wives) from our church are asked to bring a dessert.

Our annual chili cook off is tonight, 5:00, in our gym. All entries for the cook off need to be in our gym kitchen by 4:00 so our judges can begin. All the rest of the food is pot luck. There are expensive prizes for the top 3 finishers—someone may even win a $100 gift card! Our judges are: Jordan Taylor, Adam Cooper, Rusty Jones. Bribing, threatening and general            intimidation of the judges can begin immediately.

In time for Valentine’s Day, chocolate covered strawberries gift box, $6, proceeds go to our youth group. See any of our youth or Aaron, Samantha Riddle and Stephane Frey.

Business meeting this Wednesday night, 6:00, in our entry. Agenda:  1) Board recommends an increase in our monthly giving to our youth group. 2) Discussion/ideas on work on our entry area in conjunction with our new roof—discussion only.

Merge Youth Weekend

This Friday thru Sunday

Merge is a youth weekend in the Trumann area with      several churches participating and a lot of teenagers!

Our youth group needs:

1) One more host home for about 5-7 teenage boys (teenage boys don’t have to have beds, they can sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor)

2) We could use some people who will help with breakfast food for our 3 host homes

If you will help in any way, see Aaron Riddle ASAP.

Widow/widower lunch next Sunday. This lunch is always a ministry of our Ladies Life Group, but this time we are inviting the whole church for a potluck lunch next  Sunday in our gym

Merge Youth Weekend

January 19-21

Merge is a youth weekend in the Trumann area with      several churches participating and a lot of teenagers!

Our youth group needs:

1) Host homes. We have a host home for our girls, we need at least 2 host homes for our boys (5-10 boys each home?)

2) Group leaders who teach and spend time with their group all weekend. We have a leader for our girls, we need at least 2 leaders for our boy’s groups.

3) Volunteers to help cook supper for the whole Merge group on Saturday night in our gym. We have the food, we need the workers.

No worship service this evening. Next Sunday night will be our annual open house at our parsonage. Drop in from 4:00-??

Thank you to everyone who helped with our annual Christmas meal. We served 933 meals and easily had the most volunteers ever.

Business meeting this Wednesday night, 6:00, in our youth room.  Agenda: 1) Choose delegates to our Arkansas Association meeting. 2) Choose delegates to our national General Association meeting.  3) Approve our pastor’s pay package (IRS requirement) 4) Raises for our ministry staff.

Also this Wednesday: Our adult Wednesday night group will be  feeding our children’s ministry. Because of the cold we will eat in our youth room with our youth group

We will be taking down the Christmas tree in our foyer sometime this week. If you put a cross on the tree and would like to keep it at your house, please take it off the tree soon. Otherwise we will box up all the remaining crosses and keep them until next Christmas.

Board meeting tonight, 4:00 (last chance to have one this year)

Our Wednesday night grade school children have painted Christmas door hangers to be given to residents at the Trumann nursing and rehab—Arlington Cove. They will be taking the hangers there this Wednesday night and will be caroling there also. Everyone is welcome to come and help, we will leave our church at 6:30. See Amy Fisher for more info.

Our Wednesday night groups will not meet this Wednesday night and     December 27 (caroling this Wednesday night, youth group leaves for     conference the 27th)

If you want to help cut up meat for the Christmas meal, be at Couch’s BBQ, 5:30-6:00, this Thursday night. See Daniel Miller for more info.

Community Christmas Dinner will be Christmas day, 11:00-1:00 at the  Trumann Sports Complex. If you are making dressing there is dressing mix available in our foyer and the pans are next to the dressing (2 small pans equal 1 large pan)  We only need hams donated this year, take those to Couch’s BBQ by this Wed. If you would rather give money, see Lindsay Miller. If you want to help that day we need:  people in the kitchen, food servers, delivery help, clean up help, etc., be at the Sports Complex by around 10:00 to help

Ladies Life Group Christmas party tonight after our worship         service—6:00ish—at Kathy Byrd’s home. This is pot luck with a $10 gift exchange.

Our grade school children will have a paint party this Wednesday night to paint door hangers for residents at Trumann’s nursing and rehab center-Arlington Cove.  We will soon announce a date we will deliver the door hangers and go caroling at the home. Everyone in our church is welcome to go with us...watch for the date.

Community Christmas Dinner will be Christmas day, 11:00-1:00 at the Trumann Sports Complex. We have 1 pan of dressing left to be signed up for on our bulletin board. There is dressing mix available in our foyer, take as much as you need. We only need hams donated this year, take those to Couch’s BBQ by December 20. Every family is welcome to help decorate the Christmas tree in our foyer with a cross.
