Baby girl shower for Blake and Paige today, 2:00, in our gym.

Our community Christmas meal will be 11:00-1:00 on Christmas day at the Trumann Sports Complex on Pecan Grove Rd.

We know we need: 1) Turkey and ham donations can be taken to Couch’s BBQ between Dec 17-19 (not before)

2) Our church is responsible for 16 large pans of dressing (full pans please) we need 9 more pans signed up for on our bulletin board. There are bags of dressing mix in our foyer if you would like to use it. The pans will be available by the 16th.

3) If you will help with the meal, be at the Sports Complex by 10:15 on Christmas day.

4) If you know of anyone who needs a meal delivered, contact Missy Moody, 870-650-1053.

We are decorating a Christmas tree in our entry this year with nativity scene ornaments. If you would like to contribute a nativity scene ornament, hang it on our tree at your convenience.

Business meeting this Wednesday night, 6:00, in our gym. Agenda: a typhoon recently did severe damage to our G.B. church and school on Saipan. Our denomination is asking every G.B. church to generously give $1000 to help our Saipan church.

We are gradually replacing our fluorescent light fixtures with LED fixtures. There is a pile of fluorescent fixtures by the back door of our gym (west wall) to give away. Take as many as you want and tell others about it too. The back door of our gym will be unlocked this week, first come first served.

Our Harvest Day offering was $8818.00. This will go a long way in the upkeep and updating of our facilities.

Welcome to Harvest Day!

10:00, Our Sunday school classes will not meet as usual but will meet in our sanctuary for a special worship service.

11:00. Jamey and Amanda Carter and their family are our special guests. Jamey is the pastor of the Dixie Baptist church. We will be taking our Harvest Day offering for our building fund. Last year’s offering helped us put on our new roof and redo our drive thru area.

Noon, everyone is welcome to stay for lunch in our gym.

We will not have services this evening.

Our church will be hosting the Trumann community Thanksgiving service this Tuesday night, 7:00.  Rev Timothy Gary from the Church of God will be preaching.Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring some nonperishable food for our Trumann Food Pantry.

 Our small groups will not meet this Wednesday night. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

 Next Sunday we will start announcing info about our community Christmas meal.

Thank you to everyone who helped with Trunk or Treat last Sunday in any way: largest crowd yet with lots of children.

Harvest Day in 2 weeks, November 18. Jamey and Amanda Carter and their brood will be our special guests that day. We have 2 sign up sheets on our bulletin board: 1) we have 15 round tables to decorate, sign up for one or two. 2) sign up if you will help with food for that day. Our church supplies the meat, we need people to cook it. See Lynda Sadler if you have questions about the meat.

Also: a financial statement for October will be available.

From our pastor: usually in November I take somewhat of a sabbatical from preaching quite so much—try to preach a little less and pray and study more. Trunk or Treat tonight, 4:30-6:30 in the parking lot in front of our gym and youth room (if you are not doing a “trunk” please park in the lot north of our sanctuary)

~Our children are raising money for a Christmas ministry in 2 ways: 1) pumpkin decorating contestants have their pumpkins on the table in the entry, vote for the one you want to win by dropping your change in their bag 2) Our children will be selling hot chocolate and lemonade tonight, proceeds help the Christmas ministry.

See You At The Pole, student prayer event is this Wednesday morning. In Trumann students will gather at the high school and intermediate school flag poles at 7:00am.Adults who want to support the prayer movement will gather at the Focus facility across from the high school and the First Methodist church across from the intermediate school

Also: there is a Saw You At The Pole student rally this Wednesday night at the Central Community church in the Central community at the junction of Hwys 69 and 163. Pizza will be available starting at 6:00, worship will start at 7:00. Our youth group will be attending the rally so will not be meeting here this Wednesday.

Thank you to everyone who helped with our youth spaghetti supper and auction last night.

 This Wednesday night our adult group will meet at Jr & Patsy Carter’s home, 1225 Hwy 69.

 Worship Night In Trumann is Sunday night, September 30, 6:00pm, at the Trumann high school auditorium. Anthony Patterson will be leading music, Gary Fulton was scheduled to speak but has to decline due to some serious health issues. John Booker will now be preaching.  All churches in our area are welcome for a night of worship together.

 Looking ahead for children’s ministry: Trunk or Treat will be Sunday afternoon/evening, October 28, more info in the weeks to come. Our Wednesday night grade school children will start early on filling Christmas care boxes for residents at Stepping Stones homeless shelter. We will have more info on how you can help. Youth group spaghetti supper and silent auction is this Saturday night. Supper is served from 5:00-7:00, silent auction following. This is our youth group’s main fund raising event of the year.

We need:

~Contributions of good things to auction off…housewares, good tools, crafts, baked goods…use your imagination. Please leave your contribution on the stage in our gym with your name on the item. (We already have a Kawasaki Vulcan 750 motorcycle donated)

Our ladies Life Group is hosting our widow/widower lunch right after this morning’s worship service. All the widows and widowers in our church are invited.

Our youth group has accumulated more chips than they can use, everyone is welcome to take as many chips as you want from our entry area.
